Civil War Reenactment Weekend

November 6,7 and 8 I spent at a Civil War reenactment. My favorite part is the sutlers who come to sell their wares. I bought pumpkin bread, jam, fabric, pegs for hanging clothes, an vintage linen runner and some doilies. I also found a beautiful oil lamp , a scrappy quilt and a heavy tapestry OR light rug. (??) Ft. Branch near Williamston, NC. The Confederates. The Union infantry. The Union cavalry. The battle! The camp.

I always thought that going to one of those reenactments would be so much fun, and educational. You found some great things, but I expecially love that quilt. The colors are so soft. The oil lamp is great too!
Happy VTT!

It makes it so much more real to see one of those reenactments. What a bloody conflict, and in such close fighting, too.

I like the old-timey wares you got! I'm afraid I usually bypass the wares and go right to the food...

Thanks for sharing the re-enactment photos along with your vintage finds.
Many years ago I used to participate in a Medieval Re-enactment group with my husband and children. It brings back memories!

That looks like that would be fun! Thanks for sharing the wonderful photos!

I hear some people go and tat and civil war reenactments such as this one. Were there any tatters at this one? Just wondering. :)

Ruby ~ Your pics are wonderful. DH enjoyed peeking. Do you actually participate in the reenactment? DH is strictly into the historical aspect, but a lot of his friends & SCV camp folks reenact.

We do the Antietam Illumination since the incept. I'll be posting on this shortly. I cook for 100 people at the battlefield & feed anyone that comes by but mostly our volunteers.

Good talking with you. TTFN ~ Marydon
