Purchases and gifts, Blue Monday

My sister, Roxanne, and I drove over to Mary's (my other sister) ( I have three) Friday. Mary is running a small shop and auction. I wanted to share photos of some things I purchased. She had a box of jewelry that had lost it's mate. Then there were some brooches that are quite vintage. And some that are new. I found a lovely cut glass cake stand. I took the photo on top of Judyth's purple goodies she sent. WOW!!! I received the "baggie" for introducing the 500th member to CQ4Newbies. I bought several blue glass insulators and a few blue mason jars, a half gallon, 2 quarts and 3 pints. I'm not sure if the later are not reproductions, but that's OK, too. This is a Blue Monday post for Smiling Sally. Check out her other players. Such fun! I also bought a Mundlos Original Victoria treadle sewing machine. Mary had it for awhile and gave me a deal on it! Saturday I took the horse and kittens to the Veterinary. 22miles! And made another trip to Mary's. About 50 miles! Her next door neighbor had a quilt frame that I wanted. Sunday I rode with DH to a Hamfest . Over 100 miles! Mileage is for one way, so double that!! I'm tired of traveling. I don't have a photo of the quilt frame, maybe later. Here's one of a tin from the animal hospital. The flea and heartworm treatment came in it. It's 5X7 and half inches. Nice size, I think. The wooden cigar box was found at the Hamfest. It's not quite 7inches square. It was advertised as a "parts" box. Electrical parts will never see the inside of these babies!

Hi Ruby, you made a haul from your sister's store. Wish one of my sisters had a thrift store...
I always look at the leaf shaped pins and think they'd make lovely angel or fairy wings, but how to do the fairy??

I'll have to think about the blue Monday post....

I'm using my cake dish right now in between blogging. I just finished making a chocolate cake...it's cooling right now, and I'm putting it on my glass cake dish. I will be posting it on pink sat. I made some fluffy pink coconut icing...gotta go.
Happy Blue Monday
Love Claudie

What a fun haul! My grandmother had a similar machine, and I can still see her in my mind's eye happily sewing away! :-)

Sheila :-)
