Dayton Ohio Flea Market
Please join Suzanne at Coloradolady for Vintage Thingy Thursday. Thanks for hosting Suzanne!
When DH and I were planning vacation in MI, he began looking for a local hamfest (amateur radio) to attend. Not finding anything listed for the state he extended his search to surrounding area. Behold Dayton, reported to
be THE hamfest of all. There was over 500 exhibitors inside the arena and at least half that number outside. This is where I found two Mother Goose books.
This one has a copyright page and is still somewhat bound. It contains full page illustrations.
The cover on the second volume is exquisite. Pages are loose in this one and there is no copyright. I've seen this one on a blog but cannot recall where. There are more pages devoted to poetry in this version but still many full page illustrations.

That Mother Goose book is a great find. Even not in mint condition it is a vintage book to keep.
Simply wonderful! I just love these early 20th century illustrations! and who doesn't love the Mother Goose poems!
Great finds! Mother Goose as a tall book belonged to my childhood and I just had to buy the same edition for my children.
I noticed the first book was published by Volland. that company also published postcards.
What a great book with fantastic illustrations!1

What great Mother Goose books. I usually don't see any around here like this, I have been told there is a lady in our area and she buys them up all the time, she collects them and does not care how many of the same ones she has...thinks they will be non-existent someday. Love yours! Have a great VTT!
The second book (The Real Mother Goose) has been republished by Scholastic and is currently available. I recently bought one in Barnes & Noble to give as a birthday present to a little girl.
Great finds! I think my mother still has her copy of Mother Goose, I love the illustrations.
What a yummy find!! Good score for you.
Hi Ruby, thanks for joining the Rooster Party and displaying the Button....really appreciate it.
Also, happy upcoming birthday to you. I hope it is extra special.
See you on Friday or before.
