Tea, dish,kitchen towels

Well Thursday is still with us for a little while longer. They are celebrating Vintage Thingies Thursday over at Suzanne's--ColoradoLady. I've seen bears, blenders, pants and pots! More to see but I must get my post up! When is a towel a 'tea' towel? And what is the difference between a dish towel and a kitchen towel? You're not going to find the answer here but I have some vintage towels no matter what they have dried. This is a cotton. I love red but red ivy? Two calendar towels and one with vegetable decor. These are linen. I have three newer (?) cotton towels that commemorate Wales and Scotland And here is a Rhode Island commemorative linen. There's two for Christmas in linen. Identical. Someone sewed them together for a runner. Happy VTT!

I just love that red ivy- I am not a huge red fan, but that's really unique. My husband calls them cup towels like his grandmother did. It bugs me.

What a great set of towels, I love the calender ones, they remind me of the gifts I gave my grandma when I was little. We would buy them at the dime store.. Thanks for the great memory of days gone by. Have a great VTT

Now you've got me wondering, too: Tea towel versus kitchen towel versus dish towel..."Tea towel" sounds fanciest of all, maybe it's the linen ones? LOL...

I love your towel collection. That red ivy is certainly unusual!

Aren't they all names for the same thing????? YIKES - - - I didn't KNOW there might be a difference.

I remember those cloth calendars that could be used as a towel after the end of the year!!! We used to have one every year.
